Islamabad, November 06, 2023 : According to sources, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has “finalized” a list of poll workers for the general elections scheduled for 2024.
On February 8, presiding officers and assistant presiding officers will be among the 10,73,061 poll workers stationed across the nation.
According to the sources, 160,445 poll workers, 310,968 assistant presiding officers, and 54,706 presiding officers will be stationed in Punjab to guarantee a seamless election process.
A total of 264,100 poll workers, comprising of presiding and assistant presiding officers, will be assigned to Sindh.
According to additional sources, 166,655 presiding officers, assistant presiding officers, and other poll workers will be sent to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to carry out election-related tasks.
On February 8, 30,150 additional poll workers, 15,075 assistant presiding officers, and 5,266 presiding officers will be deployed in Balochistan, according to sources aware of the development.
It is important to note that the Pakistani Election Commission (ECP) announced on Friday that general elections would take place on February 8, 2024.
Details state that, in accordance with Section 57 of the Election Act, the Election Commission of Pakistan announced the general election date.
The notice stated that the general elections would be held on February 8, 2024, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s ruling.
