Gillespie is set to join the squad’s training camp in Karachi, with a scheduled press conference at Karachi’s National Bank Stadium.

During his visit, Gillespie will also meet with PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. His arrival precedes the Pakistani Shaheens’ upcoming tour to Australia, where they will engage in two four-day matches against Bangladesh A.

Jason Gillespie is geared up for his role as head coach of Pakistan’s Test team, with preparations gearing up for hosting Bangladesh in a two-match Test series slated for August and September.

Gillespie, with 71 Tests and 91 one-day internationals (ODIs) under his belt as a player, previously coached Zimbabwe and various Australian domestic teams.

The departure of Grant Bradburn as Pakistan’s head coach in January, shortly after the World Cup, was followed by the exits of team director Mickey Arthur and batting coach Andrew Puttick in quick succession.

Former Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez took over from Bradburn and Arthur as head coach and team director following Pakistan’s challenging tour of Australia and New Zealand. Pakistan suffered a 3-0 defeat in the Test series against world champions Australia and a 4-1 loss in the T20 series against New Zealand.
