Omar Ayub’s residence raided in Islamabad

Islamabad, July 07, 2024 :Police raided the Islamabad residence of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan on Sunday.

According to details, the raid was jointly conducted by Mianwali and Islamabad police. However, Omar Ayub was not present at his residence in Sector F-10 during the operation. The police personnel entered his house and conducted a search following the issuance of non-bailable arrest warrants for Omar Ayub by the Sargodha anti-terrorism court.

In response to the incident, Omar Ayub stated that both federal and provincial governments are trying to arrest him. He emphasized that the party will persist in its efforts for rights until the PTI chairman assumes the role of prime minister.

It is noteworthy that the parliamentary party of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) dismissed the resignation submitted by the party’s Secretary General, Omar Ayub Khan.

In a resolution, the parliamentary body rejected the resignation of the National Assembly opposition leader as PTI secretary general and praised him for managing the party’s affairs during challenging periods.

Omar Ayub Khan tendered his resignation from the party’s post on Thursday night.

Omar Ayub, who serves as the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, has stepped down from his position as the PTI Secretary-General. He formally announced his resignation in a letter to the party’s founder, Imran Khan.

Making his resignation public, he posted on X, stating, “I am thankful to the PTI founder for accepting my resignation as Secretary-General.” Omar Ayub mentioned that he submitted his resignation to the party Chairman, Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, on June 22, and Shibli Faraz conveyed the message to the PTI founder in jail.
