The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has registered a First Information Report (FIR) against human rights activist Sarim Burney, accusing him of trafficking a newborn baby named Haya to the United States.

According to the FIR, Haya was allegedly purchased from her parents for Rs1 million, making her the latest in a series of 20 newborns trafficked by Burney to the US under the guise of adoption over the past year. The FIA claims that 15 of these trafficked children were girls.
