Karachi, August 08, 2024: In a surprising development, Punjab has reported four new dengue cases within the last 24 hours. Health officials indicate that two of these cases were detected in Lahore, with one each in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala.
Over the past week, Punjab has recorded a total of 20 dengue cases, and in the last 30 days, 57 cases have been reported across the province.
Currently, five dengue patients are receiving treatment in hospitals throughout Punjab. Four patients are being treated in Lahore’s government and private hospitals, while one is in a Rawalpindi hospital. The Punjab Health Department reports that all patients are stable, and no fatalities have been linked to dengue fever this year.

The health department noted that three patients were being treated at Kalar Saidan and two at Taxila hospitals. Additionally, 50 cases were registered against those violating dengue SOPs, resulting in fines totaling Rs 40,000.
