300-acre Marble city to be established near Northern Bypass

Karachi, July 28, 2022: The government of Sindh is working on the development of Marble city on 300 acres of land near Northern Bypass which is industry-specific Special Economic Zone.

The project is under feasibility stage and it is expected to flourish industry of stone, granite and marble in Sindh. The project cost is estimated at Rs. 6 billion.

Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (DSEZ)

After thorough procurement process, the Concession Agreement for Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (DSEZ) was executed on February 22nd with a private partner. The contract term is of 20 years and the phase-I (comprised on 750 acres) is to be developed in 2.5 years.

The DSEZ on 1530 acres of land at Dhabeji is expected to bring in stimulus with manifold benefits not only to the province of Sindh but also national economy. These benefits will include job creation, industrial development, investment flows in the country, increase in exports and notable impact on national GDP.

Khairpur Special Economic Zone (KSEZ)

Khairpur Special Economic Zone (KSEZ) is the first and foremost SEZ that has got the status of Special Economic Zone under SEZ Act 2012 in February 2014 which provides all facilities like 5 MW Electricity generation, Natural Gas, Boundary Wall, Road Network, Water Supply & Draining, Effluent Treatment Plant, Security Rooms, Firefighting System, Dispensary, Mosque and other facilities.

The government of Sindh has released Rs 2.174 billion for provision of all facilities to the investors in the zone and provide subsidy on the industrial plots. In addition, one Window Operation, 10 years tax exemption and Zone Maintenance incentives have been provided to the investors.

On the completion of infrastructure by the end of Financial Year 2022, the Special Economic Zones Management Company will take over the Operations and Management as Developer for 10 years as per the decision of the Sindh Cabinet.
