Abdul Rahim Janoo appeal govt to organize free eye camp with SOPs

Karachi, June 16, 2020: Eye society undertakes more than 55,000 free laser cataract surgeries with the support of various welfare trusts throughout the year and arranges cure of millions of poor and deserving peoples.

This year, due to spread of Corona Virus COVID-19, if these free charity eye camps could not organized then there is a risk for thousands of people for permanent blindness which cannot be cured.

In this regard, Abdul Rahim Janoo, Chairman Haji Razak Janoo Memorial Trust (which is the world’s largest family trust for the surgery and cure of Eye diseases) informed the media persons and expressed his serious concern that if free eye surgery camps will not be organized then we are afraid that thousands of poor people will have to face blindness issue which can be permanent and due to this reason they will become handicapped for life time and this will create deep and negative impact on our society, further poverty ratio will also be increased substantially.

Haji razak janoo memorial trust, during last 31 years organized 291 free laser surgery camps in all provinces of Pakistan as well as in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. During these camps, prominent Eye surgeons of Pakistan undertake  free laser surgery and medicines, lenses, spectacles etc. were provided as well as Free food was also provided to patients and their attendants. In this regard, a 16 Members Kitchen Committee staff are always available to arrange food for patients and their attendants.

The largest camp of this Trust is organized in Pak Pattan Sharif wherein approx. 3000 Laser surgeries and 60,000 people are given treatment in free OPDs. This Trust also arrange free eye camps with the technical support of Eye Society in approx. 13 cities of all provinces of Pakistan and all the expenses are borne by the family of the Trust.

Mr. Mohammadmian Soomro, Hon Federal Minister Privatization and Former Prime Minister/ President is the Chief Patron of the Trust and he is also very kind to organize two free eye camps in Jacobabad.

The Trust also organized free eye camps with the collaboration of Pakistan Navy in Sindh and Balochistan and a large number of people take advantage of these free eye camps.

The services of Haji Razak Janoo Memorial Trust are widely spread in Pak Pattan, Bahawal Nagar, Rajanpur, Jampur, Jacobabad, Pasni, Gawadar, Ormara, Keti Bandar, Chohar Jamali, Jati, Sujawal, Hala, as well as in Dhaka Chittagong Mymen Singh and Colombo.

We humbly appeal Hon. Prime Minister and Government of Pakistan to grant permission to organize Free Eye camps with complete S.O.P., so that poor and deserving people can get benefit of these free eye camps and their vision can be restored.

In January 2020, during First Memon Leadership Conference, a documentary regarding the excellent performance of Haji Razak Janoo Memorial Trust was presented to H.E. Dr.Arif Alvi, President of Pakistan, Choudhary Muhamamd Sarwar, Hon. Governor Punjab, Mr. Imran Ismail, Governor Sind, Mr. Asad Umer, Federal Minister for Planning, Mr. Ali Zaidi, Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Mr. Mohammad mian Soomro, Federal Minister for Privatisation, Mohtarma Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination, Mohtarma Dr.Sania Nishter, Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Poverty Alleviation, Mr. Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Chief Patron Memon Leadership Forum, Mr. Bilal Ghaffar, MPA, Mr. Rashid Godil, Ex- MNA along with other Diplomats and a large number of dignitaries watched this documentary.
