No further devaluation of Pak Rupee: Minister Finance

Karachi, April 5, 2019: Federal Finance Minister Asad Umar said on Friday that no further devaluation of Pak Rupee is under consideration.

Addressing the members of Pakistan Stock Exchange via video link from Islamabad, he said that Pak Rupee no need further devaluation.

He said that Stock market is very attractive in term of investment and urged people not to waste you money for buying dollars at a higher rate.

He also declined the rumors that Pakistan has made commitment with IMF for further devaluation of Pak Rupee and said that dollar Rate Upto Rs 160 are just rumor as State Bank has already clarified that Pak Rupee is stable.

Asad Umar said that government is taking some bold steps in larger interest of the economy. “We are taking initiatives to make the economy documented and now no one can run the business without documentation”, he added.

He said that Pakistan’s economy is still stood in billions while world economies are in trillion, therefore joint efforts are required to enhance the size of economy.
