Drive against power theft mafia continues

Karachi, April 23, 2019: During a large-scale crackdown operation against power theft in the area of Sherpao Muslimabad, Landhi, K-Electric teams, supported by Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA), dislodged cables weighing over 800 kilograms, which were illegally supplying power to more than 100 residential and commercial locations.

The cables were resolutely dismantled despite resistance from the local kunda mafia. It is pertinent to mention that not only is power theft recognized as the cause of load-shed, it also damages power cables and overloads transformers causing power outages which affect.

As a result power distribution companies across Pakistan have scaled up efforts to combat this menace.
