Foreign Direct Investment declines 50 pc in FY19

Karachi, July 15, 2019: Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) falls by 50 percent in Pakistan for full-year FY19 (July-Jun19), totalling US 1.737 billion, versus US 3.471 billion that recorded in FY18.

There was a net selling from foreign funds recorded in Capital Markets that stood at US 415 million.

On the other hand, total Payments disbursed on account of overseas Bonds amounted to US 992 million.

Net foreign investment in this regard amounted to US 330 million in FY19, versus US 5.680 billion in FY18 (inclusive of Bonds issued last year).
