Karachi, April 04, 2020: Karachi Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman on request of Karachi Mayor, Waseem Akhtar distributed safety gears to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) medical staff.
On visiting ASH, he handed over safety gowns, masks and other protection materials to doctors and paramedics.
On the occasion, staff of ASH apprised Hafiz Naeem about delay in their salary and confronting with other issues on which he invited attention of Waseem Akhtar on the matter. Waseem Akhtar in reply assured him an early resolve in this direction. Moreover, Waseem Akhtar praising JI efforts for coronavirus victims thanked Hafiz Naeem.
Hafiz Naeem said volunteers of JI and Alkidmat have become symbol of communal welfare work and both organizations are providing Personal Protection Equipment, safety gowns, masks and other supplies to head of departments, doctors and paramedics in hospitals.
He also informed that various departments of ASH were fumigated and in this direction Qatar hospital has also been provided with such gears.
He said that Alkhidmat has so far distributed relief goods and ration worth Rs 460 million across Pakistan during corona virus lockdown.
Talking to journalists and praising frontline services of media persons he also acknowledged services of doctors and paramedics.
Under more than 100 help centers in 10 districts, JI and Alkhidmat is providing ration and ready meals to people while minorities were also being provided with ration and other necessity of daily life, he concluded.
Ameer district central, Monim Zafar Khan, vice, Wajihul Hasan, secretary, Anjum Riffatullah, Director Alkhidmat Community Services, Qazi Sadruddin, secretary Information, Zahid Askari, Dr Azhar Chugtai, incharge Alkidmat health services, Metropolitan Commissioner, Dr Saifur Rehman, Director Health KMC, Dr Salma Kauser and others were also present on the occasion.
