Karachi, June 21, 2022: It is for the first time ever that a Pakistani Cement Manufacturer, DG Khan Cement Company has entered the US market as the demand for construction materials in the USA has increased manifolds with buyers looking for new sources of supply following President Biden’s US $6 trillion infrastructure package. DG Khan Cement Company Limited (DGKCC) is among the largest cement manufacturers in Pakistan with a production capacity of25,000 tons of cement per day (7.500 million tons/annum).
Under this package, all mega infrastructure projects in the US including freeways, bridges, and roads will be rebuilt or given facelifts as some of these were constructed almost a century ago.
DGKCC, secured an order from a Group in the USA to supply 50,000 tons of cement every month for the next twelve months totaling 600,000 tons, it took them 56 months to get technical certifications for the supply of cement to the markets in the USA from TXDOT, NCDOT, SCDOT, and LODOT. After all the approvals the company opened the flood gates for DGKCC to enter the USA market.
DGKCC is the first to use innovative technologies in the cement industry. DGKCC’s latest state-of-the-art plant located at Hub is the first of its kind to have the largest production line with a six-stage preheater tower, the largest vertical grinding mill based on the COPE drive system, and multiple chamber cement storage silos to store different products at the same time. It is from this plant that we are exporting a shipload of low alkali cement to the USA.
