Indus Valley School (IVS) wins the contest for Heimtextil 2020 focusing on Sustainability

Karachi, November 29, 2019: Messe Frankfurt Pakistan first sponsored students from Indus Valley in 2011 where three students who won the Design Contest were provided airline tickets and hotel stay to visit Heimtextil. This year three students of Indus Valley have won the “New and Next” student competition in 2019 and they have been given the opportunity to present their work at Heimtextil 2020.

At the upcoming Heimtextil, Messe Frankfurt will put the spotlight on the textile designers of tomorrow. With the “New & Next University Contest”, schools that specialize in textile design were invited to submit design drafts by their students. Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS) were part of the winning students for Heimtextil 2020. They will be given a free fully decorated booth in the Textile Design area of 3.0

Heimtextil – celebrating its 50th anniversary is the leading trade show exhibition for home textiles and has around 3000 exhibitors from all over the world and more than 220 manufactures from Pakistan. These students will present their designs in hall 3 whereas key exhibitors such as Al-Karam, Nishat, Yunus, Gul Ahmed will be in hall 10.2 

The three students Ms. Hibba Saqib, Ms. Insia Aamir, Ms. Safa Amin have worked on projects highlighting Suitability and how to use recycled products in the textile industry. They worked on various projects using natural spices, recycled flowers, recycled plastic to create various products which can also be commercially produced. 

These 3 winning students have been given the opportunity to present and explain their work to the experts. Along with these 3 students, a delegation of 10 students with 2 faculty members will also be visiting Heimtextil Frankfurt.
