Industrialists hail Waiver of 3-month electricity bills

PM’s initiative provides relief to 2500 devastated industries in North Karachi industrial area: Capt. A Moiz, Naseem Akhtar.

Karachi, May 19, 2020: Capt. A Moiz Khan, patron-in-chief, North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI) and President Naseem Akhtar has expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Imran Khan, Finance Advisor Hafeez Sheikh, Planning Minister Asad Umar, Federal Minister Industries Hamad Azhar, advisor Commerce & Investment Abdul Razzaq Dawood and the PTI’s economic team for waiving 3 months’ electricity bill of small and medium scale industries.

In a statement, NKATI leaders said that announcement by the federal government to waive the three-month electricity bills of small and medium scale industries. Declared an important decision in a serious economic crisis due to COVID-19 pandemic.

“For the first time in history, direct relief has been given to small and medium scale industries which will definitely yield positive results and the country will once again be the cradle of economic activity despite the presence of Corona”, they added

NKATI leaders said that the coronavirus epidemic has had a devastating effect on the country’s trade and industry, which has caused severe financial losses to industries, especially SMEs and it is not possible for them to survive, so giving relief is an important need of the hour.

Capt. A. Moiz Khan and Naseem Akhtar further said that in the current severe economic crisis in the country, the announcement by the government has brought relief to the devastated industries which have suffered severe financial losses due to the corona epidemic. Despite enduring, they not only supported every decision of the government but also offered all possible support.

NKATI leaders said that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s move would benefit North Karachi Industrial Area, which consists of small and medium scale industries, with more than 2,000 to 2,500 industries including power looms, garments, dyeing, bleaching and pharma. Which are indirectly linked to exports so paying 3 months’ electricity bill by the government will help these industries to resume their production activities and reduce costs which will yield positive results and the country will once again be on the path of development.
