NKATI appeals PM Imran Khan to defer EOBI audits for 2 years

Karachi, October 19, 2020: Faisal Moiz Khan, President North Karachi Association of Trade & Industry (NKATI), has appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to defer the audits of Employees’ Old Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) for at least 2 years in view of the severe economic crisis caused by the COVID-19 and by withdrawing the notices, issue directives not to harass the industrialists.

In an appeal to Prime Minister Imran Khan, NKATI president said that a large number of audit notices were being received by the industrialists from EOBI and the industrialists were being harassed in the factories which should be taken immediate notice.

“Due to prolonged lockdown during COVID-19 pandemic, industries remained closed for several months and now production activities in the industries are gradually restoring”, he added. Despite the country’s severe economic crisis, the industrial community is struggling to survive and resume normal industrial activities.

Faisal Moiz informed that the EOBI has started putting up barriers and harassing them by sending notices on notices. In such a situation, the industrialists should run their factories or respond to the notices.

NKATI president further added that if the government really wants to see the industries back stand on its feet, it should provide relief and take such steps which help in restoring the resumption of production activities in the industries. Faisal Moiz appealed to Prime Minister Imran Khan to defer the audits of Employees’ Old Age Benefit Institution (EOBI) for at least 2 years in view of the negative impact of the corona epidemic on the country’s economy and instructions should be issued that the industrial community should not be harassed in any way so that they can continue the production process without delay and enable to make timely export orders possible so that the declining exports of the country can be increased again.
