Talking about the initiative, Jawad Zeb OLX Brand Manager said, “There are more than 70,000 conversations that are taking place daily on OLX and 70 percent of all items that are posted on OLX are estimated to be sold in the real world. Normally users select neutral locations on the roadside to exchange goods. We always promote and educate safe transaction methods to keep our users safe and encourage them to buy/sell items in public place. This ‘safe exchange point’ is an effort to further educate our users to do their transactions at a public place like malls and cafes.”

OLX has also formed a global central team to tackle this issue of customer trust and safety where different technological initiatives are taking place in parallel using AI and machine learning algorithms to identify fraud.
