Pakistan to become member of SCO Youth Council

Islamabad, April 3, 2019: Surpassing India and Bangladesh, Pakistan would be the first country in the region to secure membership of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Youth Council.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Muhammad Usman Dar said after a meeting with Additional Secretary Ministry of Foreign Affairs Zahoor Ahmed on Wednesday.

He said that, “Pakistan is going to achieve this distinction as it aims to focus on socio-political empowerment of its youth by announcing, for the first time in its national history, prestigious National Youth Council comprising of outstanding youth from all across the country”.

Muhammad Usman Dar expressed hope that this achievement would greatly benefit our youth by giving them exposure to the best international opportunities aimed at socio-economic development of youth.
