Profession section on passport is compulsory for public servants only

Islamabad, July 27, 2019: The Government of Pakistan has removed the profession section on the passport for citizens. However, the conditions to mention the profession on the passport are compulsory for public servants. After November, action will be taken against those govt employees who are hiding their government jobs.

According to the notification of the Directorate of Immigration and Passports, the deadline of changing the passport for public servants has been extended by two months.

Government employees will be required to submit the NOC of the concerned department, while a new passport will be issued after confirming the job.

Immigration officials have said that government employees who have obtained passports by hiding the profession should contact them immediately. After November, action will be taken against those public servants who are hiding their job on their passport.
