Sri Lanka reverted Cess on Pakistani Kinnow

Karachi, December 18, 2020: Sri Lankan government withdrawn recent increase in Cess on import of Pakistani Kinnow.

Advisor to Prime Minister for Trade  Abdul Razzaq Dawood on Friday informed on social media that Sri Lankan government’s has reverted its decision to increase the Cess on Pakistani kinnow. Sri Lanka recevently announced to increase the Cess on pakistani Kinnow from SLR 30 to SLR 160 per kilogram. 

Pakistani exporters raised the issue with the government of Pakistan and on the directives of the Razzaq Dawood, Trade and Investment Attashi appointed in Sri Lanka, discussed the matter with Sri Lankan authorities, which have accepted Pakistan’s request and withdrawn the additional cess.

The Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters and Merchants Association identified the issue of Sri Lanka increasing the cess on kinnow on November 30, 2020

On Friday, the advisor of Trade Abdul Razzaq Daood gave good news to exporters of fruits through tweet Abdul Zarq Daud also praised the role of PFVA in timely sign of obstacles in the way of exports.

Prime Minister’s advisors are trying to solve the problems facing exports. Waheed Ahmed patron in Chief PFVAIt will be easy to achieve the target of 3.50 thousand tonnes of Kinnow export.
