Twenty-eight participants undergoing Level 1 coaching course in Multan

Multan, February 06, 2021: A total of 28 participants are undergoing Level 1 coaching course at the Inzamam-ul-Haq High Performance Centre in Multan. The week long course is being conducted by National High Performance Centre coaches Mohtashim Rasheed and Umar Rasheed, at the end of the course the successful participants will be awarded Level 1 coaching certificates.

The Level 1 course participants are being taught the basics of coaching skills including, communication, planning and creating quality learning environments, which are key ingredients particularly for former players transitioning to coaching.

Former Pakistan Test cricketers Imran Farhat and Mohammad Sami are also taking part in the coaching course, Imran recently retired from first-class cricket after taking part in the 2020-21 domestic season where he represented Balochistan.

Sami played the 2019-20 season for Sindh and also featured for Islamabad United in the HBL Pakistan Super League 2019.

The participation of Imran and Sami is in line with the PCB’s policy of training and grooming recently retired cricketers as coaches or in other cricket related roles as it offers them both a new career opportunity besides helping upcoming cricketers gain from their wealth of experience and knowledge gained through their long contributions in professional cricket.

The next Level coaching courses will be conducted again in Multan (Level 2 – late February), Karachi (Level 1 and 2 in March).
