The partnership aims to promote youth engagement and support emerging athletes, with the Pakistani champion set to feature in the bank’s campaigns and community initiatives.
BankIslami has signed Pakistani Muay Thai champion Nisar Ahmed as its official brand ambassador, strengthening its efforts to support young athletes and promote sports across the country.
The partnership was formalised at a signing ceremony at the bank’s headquarters in Karachi, attended by senior management.
Ahmed, who hails from Killa Abdullah, Balochistan, made history in 2024 by becoming the first Pakistani to win the World Muay Federation (WMF) Pro-Amateur World Muay Thai title in Bangkok. He has also secured four gold medals at the National Kickboxing Championships, alongside several national and international honours.
BankIslami to Support Youth and Sports
Under the partnership, Ahmed will represent BankIslami in its marketing campaigns, community initiatives and youth engagement activities across Pakistan.
The bank said the collaboration reflects its commitment to supporting emerging athletes and helping them advance their careers. It also aims to encourage young people to explore sports and pursue their ambitions.
BankIslami President and Chief Executive Officer Imran H Shaikh said Pakistan had considerable talent across the country and described Ahmed’s journey from Killa Abdullah to the world championship as an example of that potential.
He said the bank was honoured to support Ahmed and looked forward to helping him continue representing Pakistan internationally.
Nisar Ahmed Highlights Opportunities for Young Athletes
Ahmed said representing Pakistan on the international stage was an honour and a responsibility. He also highlighted the potential of young Pakistani athletes in combat sports who need greater opportunities to develop their skills.
He welcomed BankIslami’s support and said he looked forward to working with the bank to encourage more young people to participate in the sport.
The partnership adds to BankIslami’s stated efforts to support youth development, sports and community initiatives across Pakistan. The bank operates under its Islamic banking principles and promotes its mission of “Saving Humanity from Riba.”
Ahmed’s appointment brings together a national sports achievement and a corporate initiative aimed at raising the profile of emerging talent in Pakistan.
