PTML secures the top position at PTA’s Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2026 following a regulatory audit of its security standards and infrastructure.
Telenor Pakistan has secured the No. 1 position in Cybersecurity Excellence for the third consecutive year at the Telecom Cyber Security Awards 2026, organised by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
The recognition highlights the company’s performance in meeting regulatory cybersecurity requirements and protecting critical telecommunications data and infrastructure.
Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja presented the award to Pak Telecom Mobile Limited (PTML) Chief Technology Officer Awais Vohra and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer Shan Haq.
The ceremony brought together senior government officials, the PTA chairman and representatives from Pakistan’s telecommunications and technology sectors.
According to the company, the award followed PTA’s audit and revalidation process under the Critical Telecom Data and Infrastructure Security Regulations (CTDISR). Telenor Pakistan recorded one of the industry’s highest compliance scores, reflecting its cybersecurity governance and security controls.
PTML said it continues to focus on maintaining security standards across its operations as telecommunications networks become increasingly important to businesses, public institutions and everyday digital services.
Commenting on the achievement, PTML Chief Technology Officer Awais Vohra said cybersecurity plays a central role in building trust in an increasingly connected society.
He said the recognition for the third consecutive year reflects the company’s security standards, regulatory compliance and efforts to protect critical telecom infrastructure and data.
Vohra added that Telenor Pakistan would continue working towards a more secure and resilient digital environment in the country.
As Pakistan’s reliance on digital connectivity grows, protecting telecommunications networks and user data remains an important part of maintaining reliable digital services. Telenor Pakistan’s latest recognition brings renewed attention to the role of cybersecurity in the country’s telecom sector.
