Addressing the ceremony virtually, Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain congratulated the farmers and Fatima Fertilizer on their performance.
He said improving wheat yields was important for strengthening Pakistan’s food security. He also highlighted government initiatives aimed at improving farmers’ access to quality seeds, modern agricultural technology and financing.
The minister stressed the need for cooperation among the government, private sector, research institutions and farming community to improve agricultural productivity.
Additional Chief Secretary Punjab Iftikhar Ali Sahoo also praised the farmers and the company for recognising agricultural performance.
He said the government was supporting farmers through agricultural policies and financial initiatives. He referred to the announced wheat support price of Rs4,500 per maund and Rs150 billion in interest-free loans extended to one million farmers through the Kissan Card since October 15.
Company Points to Improved Competition Results
Fatima Fertilizer Director Marketing and Sales Rabel Sadozai said Sarsabz users had also secured all three provincial positions and 97 out of 120 district-level positions in the 2024-25 competition.
She said the latest results represented an improvement over the previous year and highlighted the role of balanced crop nutrition and agronomic guidance in improving farm productivity.
The company said it supports farmers through agricultural advisory services and soil testing facilities, helping them assess their land’s nutritional requirements and make informed fertiliser decisions.
High-Yield Farms Highlight Wheat Production Potential
According to the company, successful farmers recorded yields of approximately 69 to 70 maunds per acre, compared with an indicative national average of around 33 maunds per acre.
These results point to the potential for significantly higher production through improved crop management, balanced fertiliser application and access to agricultural guidance.
Through its Sarsabz range, including Nitrophos and CAN, Fatima Fertilizer says it aims to promote better crop nutrition and farming practices to support agricultural productivity and Pakistan’s food security.
