Sindh Government to Launch Double-Decker Bus Services

KARACHI, October 23 2024: Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that the provincial government is set to launch double-decker buses on the roads of Karachi, with preparations already underway for their procurement.

In a meeting chaired by Memon, it was decided that the Sindh government would acquire 50 new buses for the People’s Bus Service. He urged the Mass Transit Authority and other relevant agencies to expedite the procurement process.

“We are dedicated to modernizing public transportation in Karachi,” Memon stated. “This initiative will greatly improve the urban transport system, providing residents with affordable and comfortable travel options.” He also stressed the importance of timely implementation to address the increasing transportation demands of the population.

Additionally, Memon instructed that the bus stations for the People’s Bus Service be completed as quickly as possible to facilitate the new service’s launch.

This initiative reflects the Sindh government’s commitment to enhancing public transport and improving the overall commuting experience for Karachi’s residents.
