Ammad Alam hits ton as Eaton cc clinches first win in champions trophy t-20 cricket

Karachi, November 29, 2019: Brilliant batting by opener Ammad Alam and 1 down batsman Shahzar Hassan followed by a match-winning bowling show by Farhan Malik guided Eaton CC to a 19-run win over Model CC in the 4rth Champions Trophy T-20 Cricket tournament at the RLCA ground Gulburg here on Thursday.

In an exciting match, Ammad, the man-of-the-match, hit 104 while Shahzar Hassan scored 76 to help Eato CC put in to bat and posted a massive 219-5 in the allotted 20 overs.

In reply, Model CC showed good fighting spirit particularly their openers Hanif Azad and Fayaz both added 103 for first wicket partnership, Hanif Azad scored a 43-ball 68 studded with two sixes and eight boundaries. Shahzar Hassan contributed 67 off 35 balls with five sixes and two fours, Anop Ravish made 20 off 10 balls with four fours.

However, the Model CC’ valiant effort was not enough as they were restricted on 200-7 in 20 overs with leg spinner Farhan Malik claiming three wickets for 26 and Osama Ayoub taking two wickets for 37.

Earlier, Eaton to batting first, Ammad (104) and Shahzar (76), who looked in punishing mood, put on 119 off mere 61 balls for the second wicket, helping Eaton CC earn a big total which proved decisive in the end

Ammad faced only 70 balls during his hurricane knock that contained nine sixes and two boundaries. Shahzad’s 76 came off only 26 balls and was adorned with five towering sixes and two boundaries.
