Karachi, November 30, 2019: Leg-spinner Waleed Azeem bowled Arham CC to a 50-run victory over strong Rangoonwala CC with a devastating five-wicket haul on Friday in the 4rth Champions Trophy T-20 cricket tournament at the RLCA Ground Gulberg.
Waleed snared five wickets for just 26 runs in his four-over quota as Rangoonwala were bowled out for 163 after Arham CC had made 213-6 batting first.
In second day on Friday, Arham CC chalked up their win in the event, Former Pakistan under 19 openers Mohammad Waqas had made 58 off 28 balls with the aid of seven fours and four sixes, Faizan Khan made 39 off 33 balls with five boundaries. both added 78 for first wicket while Mohammad Usman also scored a brilliant half-century 53 off 25 balls with four boundaries and three sixes, Skipper Danish Muneer chipped in with a 10-ball 29 that included two sixes and as many fours.
Left-arm -spinner Fawad Khan captured 2-54, Noor Wali, Imran, and Najeeb Ullah claimed one wicket each.
Rngoonwala in reply were restricted 163-9 in 20 overs. former Pakistan under 19 all-rounder Noor Wali were joined Qadir Khan in a defiant partnership of 64, Arham CC always had the match in their control, Noor wali hit 47 off 33 balls with one four and three sixes while Qadir Khan made a 27-ball with two boundaries and four huge sixes, Akhtar Mohammad contributed 18 off 14 balls with two fours, Haris Ali Khan 13.
Leg spinner Kashif Ali (2-29), Mohammad Usman (1-21) and Khalid un Nabi (1-36) provided good back-up to Waleed’s match-winning performance.
Leter; Chief guest former first-class cricketer Anwar ul Haque was given away the man-of-the-match award to Waleed Azeem (5-26) from the winners. Chief organizer Atiq Ahmed and Umpire Muhammad Rehan were also present.
