PIA revised airfreight charges for Vegetables and Fruits

Karachi, March 11, 2021: Patron-in-Chief, Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters and Merchants Association (PFVA) Waheed Ahmed met the CEO-PIA Air Marshal (Rtd.), with his panel including, Qamar -Ur- Zaman & Joint Secretary, Rafay (MoC). The Delegation of PFVAV consisted of Shazia Mateen, Saeed Khan and Nasser.

During the meeting Arshad Malik informed that PIA has revised Airfreight charges downward to 24 cents ( USD 0.04 per Kg equivalent to PKR 40 / Kg) for Vegetables and Fruits fort the Middle sector (Jeddah , Riyadh ,Dammam & Dubai) with further assurance to offer lesser freight charges in future coupled with provision of excellent ground handling facilities against all Foreign carriers operating from Pakistan so as to facilitate export enhancement.

He also shared a good news that the PIA has already installed a big scanning machine where 100 boxes can be scanned at once at Islamabad Airport with further firm assurance that soon new big scanners will also be installed at Karachi and Lahore.

He further displayed keen interest to have meetings with the Mango exporter before the mango season so that close cooperation can be maintained with all the Stakeholders. He has also given firm assurance that the PIA would extend cooperation and support to the PFVA so that export of the Country can be further enhanced.
