Karachi, October 30, 2023: Legendary cricketer Inzamam-ul-Haq on Monday stepped down as Chief Selector of the Pakistan Cricket Team, according to ARY News sources.

According to the sources, Inzamam-ul-Haq tried to contact and wanted to meet the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf but the PCB chief denied to meet him after which the chief selector Inzamam resigned from his position.

As per rumors, the chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq about to face an inquiry after reports of him being a stakeholder in a company in contract with certain players.

It was also said that the Pakistani squad selected for the World Cup 2023 keeping in view the firm’s interests.

Inzamam-ul-Haq was ready to face the inquiry regarding his days as the chief selector, however, the chief selector resign are raising question about the transparency in the squad selection process for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.

Inzamam-ul-Haq lamented about speculations being made on issues without an investigation. The former cricketer said he has been informed about a five-member committee looking into the matter.
