Islamabad, November 16, 2023 : The Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony announced the digitization of Hajj 2024, introducing a mobile app to aid pilgrims.

In a recent update on Hajj 2024, Minister of Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed revealed that all 90,000 Pakistani pilgrims will receive a suitcase featuring a QR code containing their details. A dedicated mobile app will support pilgrims, offering guidance throughout their journey, even without an internet connection.

Under the guidance of Minister of Religious Affairs Aneeq Ahmed, the cabinet approved the Hajj policy, marking the first instance of Hajj finances being more cost-effective than in previous years.

Having observed last year’s expenses amounting to Rs 1,175,000, Minister Aneeq Ahmed introduced a Hajj 2024 package priced at Rs 1,075,000, demonstrating efforts to alleviate the financial burden on pilgrims.

Minister Aneeq Ahmed disclosed the successful completion of nearly all essential tasks for Hajj 2024 ahead of schedule, ensuring a well-organized pilgrimage experience.

Additionally, the ministry is actively negotiating with airlines to secure relief on airfares for pilgrims. If successful, the obtained financial concessions will be directly deposited into the accounts of the Hujjaj.
