Major administrative changes in FIA Karachi circles

FIA administrative changes

Karachi, November 17, 2023: With the approval of the Director General FIA, a number of administrative changes have been made in the FIA Karachi circles.

The additional director of the corporate crime circle Imran Riaz, reportedly one of the system-connected persons, has also been transferred with the approval of DGFIA Mohsin Butt.

According to the notification issued with the signature of Director Human Resources Ahmed Rizwan, the charge of Deputy Director Commercial Banking Circle has been taken back from Grade 18 officer Rabia Qureshi and directed to report to Additional Director General South Office, while Grade 18 officer Ali Murad Baladi has been transferred from the post of Deputy Director Counter Terrorism Wing and appointed as Deputy Director Commercial Banking Circle.

In addition, Grade 18 officer Deputy Director State Bank Circle Karachi Ayaz Mehr has been given the additional charge of Deputy Director Corporate Crime Circle.

These changes were very important for the recently appointed new Director FIA Karachi as previously, the system, operating in the institutions of Sindh, had a strong grip on the system.

It should be noted that during the appointment of the Additional Director of FIA Corporate Crime Circle, Imran Riaz, allegedly FIA investigative officers received millions of rupees in several cases including Handi/ Hawala, sugar investigation, tyre scrap dealers investigation, and other inquiries.

A recent incident of Agha Khan Hospital supports these allegations. Recently, a firing incident was reported, in which officials of FIA Corporate Crime Circle Karachi opened fire during an operation at the Aga Khan Hospital.

On this incident, DGFIA took serious note and transferred four officers of the Corporate Crime Circle to the Additional Director General South, but Imran Riaz kept these officers posted in the circle, while on the other hand, Rabia Qureshi, Deputy Director, Commercial Banking Circle, Karachi, also had a weak grip on the officers posted in her circle and last month in the Adonic Case, during the proceedings against the owners of the company, the two officers were first accused of under-disclosing the amount in the proceedings and later accused of leaving the main character named in the case before the 169 report was approved by the court.

A separate inquiry was started in the FIA Anti-Corruption Circle against the two officers of the Banking Circle, in which Deputy Director Rabia Qureshi has also come under the allegation that she sent the 169 report to the investigating officer after approval from the Legal Officer, on which the main accused was released.

This is the fourth transfer of Ali Murad Baladi included in this notification in a month and a half. Before that, he was appointed Deputy Director of Immigration, then Deputy Director of Cyber Crime, and then Deputy Director of Counter Terrorism Wing.
