Sialkot, November 26, 2023 : In Sialkot, Punjab, eight business centers, including six hotels, were sealed for non-compliance with the smart lockdown regulations imposed due to smog.
The district administration has reported the arrest of 52 individuals for violating the lockdown, with fines totaling Rs508,000 imposed for the infractions.
To address the escalating smog threat, the government is implementing measures, including the planned initiation of artificial rain in the provincial capital in the upcoming week, according to sources.
It’s noteworthy that the Punjab government has mandated the shutdown of markets and shops in six divisions of the province due to alarmingly high smog levels.
As per an official notification, markets and shops in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Multan, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, and Hafizabad divisions were closed on Sunday until 4:00 pm as part of the provincial government’s initiatives to tackle the escalating smog issue.
