LPG price increased by OGRA

Islamabad, January 01, 2024 : On Monday, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) declared a substantial hike in the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), to take effect from January 1, 2024.

According to a notification, the regulatory authority has established the price of locally produced LPG at Rs256.42 per kg, marking an increase of Rs1.57 compared to the previous month’s Rs254.86.

Consequently, the cost of a domestic LPG cylinder, weighing 11.8kg, has risen to Rs3,025.87 for the current month, up by Rs18.52 from the previous month’s Rs3,007.62.

In its statement, OGRA noted that the gas producer price is tied to Saudi Aramco-CP and the US Dollar exchange rate. In comparison to the previous month, Saudi Aramco-CP has risen by 1.6 percent.

However, despite a 0.86 percent decrease in the average Dollar exchange rate, the gas consumer price has increased by Rs. 18.52 for an 11.8 kg cylinder, representing a 0.61 percent increment.
