FPCCI must be onboard in FBR reforms

Karachi, January 24, 2024: President of United Business Group (UBG) and former president of FPCCI, Zubair Tufail, on behalf of the supervisory federal cabinet, decided to establish an inter-ministerial committee for reforms in the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

While appreciating, said that the establishment of the committee will facilitate FBR restructuring, the representation of the business community in the committee is very important while the new government should maintain this committee.

It should be noted that the inter-ministerial committee formed for reforms in FBR will be chaired by the caretaker finance minister. Zubair Tufail said that the ministers of privatization, foreign affairs, trade, energy, law and justice and IT have also been included in the committee. So that the committee can present its recommendations on the proposals in the next meeting of the federal cabinet, while the business community demands from the caretaker prime minister and caretaker finance minister that FPCCI, the representative body of Pakistan’s largest stakeholders, should also be included in the said committee.

And this committee should also be approved by the incoming government so that the pending issues in the FBR of the business community can also be resolved immediately with reforms. Besides, UBG President Zubair Tufail while talking to Chairman UBG(Sindh)  Khalid Tawab, Ahmed Chinoy, Khurram Ejaz, Shakeel Dhingra and others, UBG central leadership, Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, KPK and Islamabad.

Congratulating the zonal leadership on the historic victory in the FPCCI elections with a huge majority, he said that the business community of Pakistan has once again given us a mandate to prove that UBG is the real leadership of Pakistan’s business community. He said that the credit of the success of UBG goes to Patron in chief UBG SM Tanveer and all the leadership of the group whose continuous struggle made us successful. Now the government has to include FPCCI in consultation for national economic stability.
