Islamabad, February 02, 2024 :January 24 Urea and DAP off take reduces by 3 percent and 27 percent Year-over-Year.

Jan’24: Urea sales decreased by 3% YoY

  • As per the provisional fertilizer data, urea offtake displays a decline of 3% YoY to 613k tons in Jan’24 compared to 631k tons in SPLY.
  • On a company-wise basis, urea dispatches of EFERT decreased by 2% YoY, settling at 210k tons in Jan’24.
  • Whereas, urea offtake of FFC and FFBL combined and FATIMA swelled up by 20% and 96%, YoY respectively, arriving at 266k tons and 98k tons, respectively in Jan’24.
  • Moreover, NFML’s urea sales were reported to be zero in Jan’24 compared to 142k tons in Jan’23.
  • On a MoM basis, urea sales declined by 2% owed to seasonality factor.
  • The urea offtake of FATIMA plummeted by 10% MoM.
  • Meanwhile,  FFC and FFBL combined posted a growth of 5% MoM in sales.
  • Whereas, urea dispatches of EFERT remained stable on MoM basis.

DAP offtake declined by 27% YoY in Jan’24

  • During Jan’24 DAP sales reported declined of 27% YoY to 70k tons. Similarly, DAP sales plunged by 49% MoM since sowing for Rabi season concluded in Dec’23.
  • On a company-specific basis, DAP sales of FFC and FFBL combined contracted by 56% YoY | 62% MoM to 28k tons in Jan’24.
  • Whereas, EFERT’s DAP dispatches in Jan’24 witnessed a massive growth of 70% YoY | 20% MoM to arrive at 37k tons.
  • Furthermore, the DAP sales by private importers clocked in at 5k tons, plunging by 25% YoY | 83% MoM.

Inventory position

  • By the end of Jan’24, the urea inventory clocked in at 138k tons compared to 104k tons in Dec’23. Whereas, DAP inventory settled at 59k tons in Jan’24 against 25k tons in Dec’23.
