Safe City Project: Officials visit Karachi to monitor progress

Karachi, July 04, 2024 : Work on the Safe City Project has commenced, with poles installed at six locations. Top officials visited the area to monitor the progress.

Director General of Safe City, Asif Aijaz Shaikh, and P.D. Brigadier Gul Hassan arrived in the Aram Bagh area to inspect the ongoing work.

Poles for the Safe City Project have been installed at NED University, Aram Bagh, and Haqqani Chowk. Additionally, two poles have been set up at Pakistan Chowk and one adjacent to D.J. Science College.

The poles for the city project feature a pink button and other options.

Director General of Safe City, Asif Aijaz Shaikh, stated that cameras will be mounted on the poles within 20 days. “These cameras will transmit footage to the command-and-control room of the Sindh Police, where it will be recorded,” he explained.

“Under the project, 1300 cameras will be installed on 300 poles,” said Project Director Brigadier Gul Hassan. “Each pole will have a push button for requesting assistance,” he added.

The police force will respond promptly to any complaints, the brigadier emphasized.
