Islamabad, September 06, 2024: On Friday, the Pakistani rupee appreciated by 11 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading, closing at Rs278.56, up from the previous day’s rate of Rs278.67.
In the open market, the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP) reported the buying and selling rates of the dollar at Rs278.75 and Rs280.25, respectively.
The euro saw an increase of 63 paisa, closing at Rs309.58 compared to the previous day’s Rs308.95, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese yen remained steady at Rs1.94, while the British pound rose by 81 paisa, ending the day at Rs367.19, up from Rs366.38.
Meanwhile, the exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal each decreased by 3 paisa, closing at Rs75.84 and Rs74.20, respectively.
On the previous day, the rupee had appreciated by 9 paisa against the US dollar in interbank trading, closing at Rs278.67. The euro had risen by 88 paisa, ending at Rs308.95 from the prior rate of Rs308.07, as per SBP data.
