Agreement to enhance cooperation in key sectors and address trade imbalances is welcome. There is a lot of scope for investments and joint ventures in this sector to meet Pakistan’s growing energy needs. In addition, discussions are expected to increase investment and collaboration in transport links and digital infrastructure to boost trade and tourism.
Federation President Atif Ikram said that there is a lot of potential to promote cooperation in the field of agriculture between Malaysia and Pakistan. Both the countries can share their experience and skills in this sector which can boost exports. Through bilateral cooperation and common goals, both countries can benefit not only their economies but also the entire Muslim world.
Atif Ikram Sheikh added that the visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim reflects the commitment to deepen the partnership between the two countries. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s proposal to increase the export of halal meat from Pakistan to Malaysia to $200 million annually is feasible as the halal industry is an important sector for both countries with vast opportunities for cooperation, especially certification, Cooperation can be promoted in the areas of standardization and access to new markets.
