President Zardari advocates for enhanced railroad connectivity with Turkiye

Ashgabat, October 11, 2024: During a pivotal meeting with Numan Kurtulmus, Speaker of the Turkish Parliament, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the importance of improving railroad connectivity between Pakistan and Turkiye as a means to enhance trade, economic cooperation, and people-to-people contacts.

The discussion took place on the sidelines of the International Forum on “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations – Basis of Peace and Development” in Ashgabat, with notable attendees including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Chief Minister of Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti.

President Zardari called for a deepening of bilateral ties and an increase in delegation exchanges to bring the two brotherly nations closer. He praised Turkiye as a sincere friend of Pakistan and the Muslim world, recognizing its principled stance on issues affecting the Ummah and its commitment to advocating against injustice.

The meeting also addressed the pressing humanitarian crises in Palestine and Lebanon, with both leaders expressing deep concern over the loss of innocent lives amid ongoing conflicts. They agreed on the necessity for the Muslim world to engage in serious efforts to confront the challenges facing their communities.

President Zardari concluded by acknowledging Turkiye’s trajectory towards becoming an economic powerhouse, extending his best wishes for the nation’s continued success and prosperity. This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening the bonds of cooperation between Pakistan and Turkiye, setting the stage for future collaborative endeavors.
