Some 34 Pakistani Companies to participate in SIAL Food Fair 2024 Paris, France.

KARACHI, October 19 2024:Pakistan is set to make a strong presence at the SIAL Food Fair 2024, which will be held from October 19th to 23rd in Paris, France. With 34 companies representing its vibrant food sector, Pakistan aims to highlight its high-quality agricultural and processed food products, emphasizing its expanding export capabilities in key international markets.

Among the participants, 21 companies from Pakistan’s thriving rice industry will feature prominently at the fair. Pakistan’s rice exports to Europe, which have reached an impressive $573 million, will take centre stage, with a special focus on the globally renowned Basmati and other premium rice varieties. These high-demand rice products are expected to draw significant attention from international buyers.

In addition to rice, Pakistan will also showcase its rapidly growing processed food sector, with 13 companies displaying a wide array of products, including ready-to-eat meals, snacks, and spices. This sector has become a vital part of Pakistan’s export portfolio, reflecting the country’s innovation and adherence to global quality standards.

Pakistan’s pavilion will further spotlight key agricultural exports, such as Ethyl alcohol, which has garnered $243 million in exports to Europe, solidifying Pakistan’s position as a leading supplier of industrial and pharmaceutical-grade alcohol. Dates, another important export, with $42 million worth of exports to Europe, will also be featured. Known for their superior quality, Pakistani dates continue to gain popularity in global markets. Additionally, oil seeds, a growing export commodity contributing $30 million to Pakistan’s revenue from Europe, will be highlighted for their role in meeting international demand.

The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) is facilitating this important participation, aiming to help Pakistani companies engage with global buyers, explore new opportunities, and form strategic partnerships. Through its pavilion at SIAL, Pakistan will not only present the diversity of its agricultural and processed food products but also underline its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and food safety—key elements driving its success in global trade.
