Zong 4G Collaborates with Alkhidmat Foundation

ISLAMABAD, 13th December 2024: Zong 4G, Pakistan’s leading telecom operator, is making strides in corporate social responsibility by addressing critical healthcare challenges in underserved regions. On December 7th, Zong’s Sustainability Team visited Kotri Jamshoro to observe the operations of a mobile health unit set up in collaboration with the Alkhidmat Foundation.

This impactful initiative aims to provide free healthcare services to underserved communities in remote areas of Sindh, offering essential medical assistance such as free consultations and medications. The mobile health unit has already benefited over 3,000 individuals, many of whom face limited access to hospitals and struggle with the high costs of medical treatment. By bringing healthcare directly to these communities, Zong is helping to bridge the healthcare gap in the region.

During the visit, Zong’s team engaged with local residents who shared heartfelt stories about how the mobile health unit has improved their lives. From general check-ups for common ailments like fever and body pain to follow-ups for chronic conditions, the service has become a crucial lifeline for many.

Dr. Syed Tabassum Jaffri, President of Alkhidmat Foundation Sindh, emphasized the significance of this initiative, saying, “At Alkhidmat Foundation, we believe in breaking barriers to healthcare access, ensuring that no community is left behind. Through our Mobile Health Unit initiative, we’re reaching underserved areas with essential medical services. This partnership with Zong represents a powerful collaboration, uniting technology and humanitarian efforts to create lasting change. Together, we’re not just delivering healthcare — we’re delivering hope.”

Andleeb Aslam, Deputy Director of Communications and Sustainability at Zong 4G, reiterated the company’s commitment to improving healthcare access, stating, “Access to healthcare is an issue that must be taken seriously. While we can’t help everyone, we try to reach as many as we can through our partnership with Alkhidmat. This initiative is just one step in our journey toward creating a healthier, more equitable future for all.”

This program is not just about providing immediate healthcare services but also about creating sustainable improvements in community health and well-being. By reducing the prevalence of untreated illnesses and enhancing the productivity of local communities, the initiative sets the foundation for a healthier future in Sindh. Furthermore, this model has the potential to be expanded to other underserved regions, amplifying its positive impact across the province and beyond.
