KARACHI, December 18, 2024: The 4th edition of the DALFA Cattle Show is set to be held from January 17-19 at the Expo Centre in Karachi, bringing together key stakeholders from the agriculture and livestock sectors.

At a briefing held at the Governor House, Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori emphasized the importance of public-private partnerships for economic stability and called for innovation in the agriculture and livestock industries, highlighting that such initiatives are critical for the growth of the national economy.

Zohair Naseer, CEO of Badar Expo, reflected on the journey of the DALFA Expo and Cattle Show, noting its remarkable growth from just 12 exhibitors to over 200 exhibitors with support from the provincial governments of Sindh and Balochistan. He also revealed plans to target African markets this year, with over 30 exhibitors from countries like Nigeria, Senegal, and Ethiopia joining the show. “This will open new export opportunities for local sectors,” Naseer added.

Patron-in-Chief of DALFA, Haris Mithani, expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the event, acknowledging the contributions from various sectors such as dairy, agriculture, livestock, fisheries, and technology, which have played a crucial role in the show’s success. “The show plays a vital role in promoting key sectors of the country that are essential for the national economy,” Mithani said.

Bilal Khan Kakar, Vice Chairman of the Balochistan Board of Investment and Trade (BBoIT), announced that the next DALFA event will be hosted in Balochistan, with full support from the provincial government. He highlighted that Balochistan, which holds the largest share in the livestock sector, has yet to fully tap into its potential, particularly in the blue economy. The upcoming show will aim to raise awareness about the province’s significance.

Nadeem Khanzada, Senior Joint Director at the State Bank of Pakistan, underlined that livestock contributes 14% to the national GDP and emphasized the need for supporting small farmers to enhance sectoral growth.
