Wafi Energy Pakistan Reports Rs6.56 Billion Profit in Nine Months
Company’s profit more than doubled year-on-year as it expanded its Shell retail network and announced a Rs4 per-share dividend.
Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited (WEPL) has reported a profit after tax of Rs6.558 billion for the nine months ended September 30, 2026, compared with Rs3.030 billion in the corresponding period last year.
The company announced its financial results following a period of volatility in global oil markets, supply-side pressures and challenging operating conditions. Its board also announced a dividend of Rs4 per share.
During the reporting period, WEPL continued to expand its retail network and strengthen its customer offerings across Pakistan.
The company added 54 new Shell retail sites, 26 Shell Select stores and nine Shell Recharge electric vehicle charging locations. It also continued to serve customers through its consumer and industrial lubricants businesses, supported by product offerings, customer engagement and new partnerships.
WEPL also pursued community and sustainability initiatives during the period. Through its partnership with The Dawood Foundation’s MagnifiScience Centre, the company supported children’s education.
In addition, WEPL secured first place in the IFC–Pakistan Business Council’s Climate2Equal initiative for work conducted through its Access to Energy programme. The programme focuses on supporting women and rural communities.
The company also received international recognition from Shell, which named Wafi Energy Pakistan Limited its Shell Licensee of the Year 2025 among Shell licensees worldwide. According to the company, the recognition reflects its efforts across operations, safety standards and customer service.
Commenting on the results, WEPL Chief Executive Officer Zubair Shaikh said the company had continued to grow its business and strengthen its market position during the first nine months of 2026.
He said the expansion of the retail network and non-fuel retail offerings had helped the company serve customers despite difficult operating conditions.
Shaikh added that WEPL would continue investing in its business, aiming to create long-term value for shareholders and Pakistan.
Wafi Energy Pakistan said it would build on its progress while working to maintain a reliable energy supply and support the country’s changing energy needs.
