The presenter of ICC World Cup 2023 – Zainab Abbas – on Monday left India after an Indian lawyer filed a complaint in Indian court against her over alleged “anti-India” tweets.
According to the reports, the Indian lawyer namely – Vineet Jindal – filed a written complaint against Zainab Abbas, highlighting a series of tweets from 2014 that resurfaced on the social media platform ‘X’ formerly known as Twitter.
In the complaint, the lawyer accused the presenter of tweeting “anti-Hindu” and “anti-India” statements.
Rejecting the news about deportation, the official ICC events presenter confirmed to a number of sources that she herself left India to avoid any uncertain situation.
However, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has not officially commented on the matter as of now.
