Islamabad, July 10, 2024: The Pakistan government announced an increase in salaries and pensions for employees, as proposed in the recently-announced Budget 2024-25.
According to the notification issued by the Finance Division, the particular relief allowance for government employees up to grade-16 has been increased by 25 percent.
Similarly, the allowance for officials from grade-17 to grade-22 has been raised by 20 percent. Additionally, a 15 percent increase in pensions for federal employees, proposed in the Budget 2024, has been notified.
The specific relief allowance will be subject to income tax and will be paid during regular off days and leaves preparatory to retirement, but not during extraordinary leaves.
It will not be included in the calculation of pension, gratuity, and house rent.
Furthermore, the allowance will not be granted during the deputation of employees abroad, but it will resume once they return and are appointed to their respective departments.
