Islamabad, July 11, 2024: To tackle the current passport crisis, the federal government has decided to procure additional passport printing machines.
The Deputy General (DG) of Passports and Immigration has prepared a requisition and submitted it to the Ministry of Interior.
According to the authorities, the plan includes procuring a total of six desktops and two e-passport machines. These new machines are capable of printing 1,000 passports per hour.
It is important to note that passport printing has been delayed nationwide for the past year due to a shortage of paper and low-efficiency machines.
