Guidelines Issued by DSP Tariq Islam Warn Anti-Encroachment Police Against Solo Duties During Muharram
In light of recent attacks, DSP Tariq Islam has advised anti-encroachment police personnel against conducting official duties alone during Muharram. A notification highlighted potential threats targeting government officials in Karachi during the holy month.
It instructed officials to utilize police vehicles for assignments and to refrain from wearing uniforms and shoes when returning home after completing duties.

At the request of authorities in Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the federal government has authorized the deployment of armed forces to maintain law and order.
Under Article 245 of the Constitution, the Centre has sanctioned the deployment of army and civil armed forces to ensure peace. The Ministry of Interior has clarified that deployment decisions will be made based on the prevailing ground situation, with provinces retaining authority over deployment locations.
