PTI suspends

According to a report on Friday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has taken the decision to suspend the membership of Sher Afzal Marwat, a prominent party leader who won a seat in the National Assembly during the February 8 elections.

Sources indicated that PTI leaders held a meeting with their incarcerated party founder, Imran Khan, on Thursday to discuss and finalize the decision regarding Marwat. The decision to suspend his membership comes amidst allegations from party leaders that Sher Afzal Marwat has been consistently breaching party discipline over the past month.

The suspension underscores PTI’s efforts to maintain internal discipline and cohesion, particularly as they navigate governance challenges and internal dynamics.

“During the meeting with Imran Khan, it was unanimously agreed that no leader is exempt from party rules, and any deviation would result in similar consequences,” they emphasized.

Earlier, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) issued a show-cause notice to Sher Afzal Marwat for making irresponsible statements.

According to details, PTI Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan issued the notice, asking Marwat to clarify his statements within three days, which were deemed detrimental to the party’s reputation.

The notice highlighted that such remarks contravene party discipline and disregard the explicit directives of the party’s founder, Imran Khan, who stresses the importance of responsible conduct.

Marwat was cautioned that failure to respond adequately could result in further disciplinary measures.
