PSX remains bearish, drops 146 points

Karachi, August 01, 2024: On the third consecutive day of the current business week, the 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) maintained its bearish trend, losing 146.68 points, a decrease of 0.19 percent, closing at 77,740.31 points from 77,886.99 points.

During intraday trading, the KSE-100 index peaked at 78,241.02 points and hit a low of 77,595.92 points before settling at 77,740.31 points.

A total of 278,986,985 shares were traded during the day, compared to 382,597,400 shares the previous day. The total value of traded shares was Rs 13.094 billion, down from Rs 14.638 billion on the last trading day.

Out of 433 companies that traded, 172 recorded gains, 198 sustained losses, and 63 saw no change in their share prices.

On the opening day of the current business week, the KSE-100 index of the PSX saw a bullish trend, gaining 798.23 points, a positive change of 1.02 percent, closing at 78,827.74 points from 78,029.51 points the previous week.

During intraday trading, the 100-index reached a high of 79,055.99 points and a low of 78,016.29 points before closing at 78,827.74 points.

A total of 371,087,020 shares were traded during the day, compared to 278,327,575 shares the previous day. The total value of traded shares was Rs 19.156 billion, up from Rs 11.621 billion on the last trading day.

Out of 437 companies that traded, 252 recorded gains, 129 sustained losses, and 56 saw no change in their share prices.
