Pakistani rupee appreciates by Rs 0.11 against US dollar

Karachi, August 30, 2024: On Friday, the Pakistani rupee appreciated by Rs 0.11 against the US dollar in interbank trading, closing at Rs 278.53 compared to the previous day’s rate of Rs 278.64.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of the dollar in the open market were Rs 278.65 and Rs 279.75, respectively.

The Euro’s value dropped by Rs 0.79, closing at Rs 308.80, down from the previous day’s rate of Rs 309.59, as reported by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The Japanese yen remained steady at Rs 1.92. However, the British pound experienced a decrease of Rs 0.73, trading at Rs 367.34 compared to the prior closing rate of Rs 368.07.

The exchange rates for the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal both declined by Rs 0.03, closing at Rs 75.83 and Rs 74.22, respectively.
