KARACHI, November 18 2024: The two-day extravaganza of the 61st Sindh Open and Boys Age Group Swimming Championship, organized by the Sindh Swimming Association and supported by Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana, came to a spectacular end.
In what was a display of excellence, Karachi Grammar School swimmers once again dominated the event, which was held at the newly inaugurated and picturesque swimming pool in Naya Nazimabad. The school’s team earned the championship trophy with a total of 1,462 points, proving their dominance in the sport. Karachi Club secured the second position with 488 points, while Bayview School finished third with 481 points. The event saw over 300 swimmers from 18 institutions across Sindh competing in various categories.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Abdul Samad Habib, the CEO of Javadan Corporation Limited, who was the special guest at the event. Expressing his enthusiasm, he shared, “This is just the beginning, and we plan to host more such events in the future. The youth of Pakistan has immense potential, and it is crucial that we continue supporting them.”
The occasion also saw the presence of prominent figures including Syed Muhammad Talha, President of Naya Nazimabad Gymkhana, Colonel Saeed Ahmed Khan, President of Sindh Swimming Association, Izhar ul Haq, Secretary of the Association, Veena Masood, Member of the Pakistan Olympic Association, Muhammad Asif, Manager Sports, and a large crowd of enthusiastic citizens.
The success of this event highlights the growing potential of swimming in Pakistan and underscores the importance of nurturing talent at the grassroots level.
